Bobcat Sports Properties marketing proposal
Presentation of a marketing proposal made by Pete Korstad of Bobcat Sports for the 2010 Football season and Women’s Basketball to be funded through the grant the state is offering.
  • Jenna commented that in research she did in support of the proposal, 62% of “at risk” drinkers drink at sporting events.  She clarified that the Task Force would oversee any messages used, including when and how.
  • The group discussed various options and fine points of the proposal. Jason suggested using Bobcat signage downtown at the bars post-game.
  • Cherie moved to approve the proposal (to move forward with this grant project as proposed); Jeff seconded. Unanimous approval.
  • Among other things, the group discussed how interlocks and misdemeanor probation could be better utilized in Gallatin County for DUI offenders.

Marketing
  • The $250 set-aside for marketing the Task Force had approved was spent on an ad in the county fair brochure. Jenna requested the group approve the same amount again as a marketing set-aside for ad opportunities that come up in a time frame that can not be addressed by waiting for the next meeting. Cherie moved to approve; Jeff seconded. Unanimous approval.
  • Jenna reminded the group they have already approved $500 for the Alcohol Myths campaign for use in the Bozone and Belgrade News. She’ll move forward with getting that in to print and will not organize the usual back-to-school guerilla marketing campaign.

  • The nominations for the first slate of officers to rotate on a quarterly basis are:
  • Cherie Lofton for chair, nominated by Stephen.
  • Christina Crow for vice-chair; and KC McLaughlin for secretary, nominated by Bob Larson.
  • Bob moved to approve the slate as presented; Jason seconded. Unanimous approval.
